Across the world, 25 to 45% of typically developing children struggle with feeding at some point in their life1. Studies show that about 10% of children will go on to experience significant challenges with feeding. This figure rises for children with medical, developmental or learning differences. The short- and long-term impact of paediatric feeding difficulties on a child’s nutrition, development, growth and overall wellbeing can be significant for both the child and their family2. Early Intervention can and does make an important difference for children with feeding and mealtime challenges.
